Infinitiv form

Past Participle form

The second word is always ist or habe, the last word is the verb (the action).
It is written in the form of ge-(verb)-t, eg gemacht, gewohnt. But there are a lot of exceptions.
90% of the verbs have "habe" as the second word.

z.B. Gestern(yesterday) hat Peter Fuβball gespielt. (from the word spielen)

gekocht (kochen)
gekauft (kaufen)
gemacht (machen)
geschickt (schicken "visit")
geredet (reden "talk")
geflirtet (flirten) [if the word already ends with a t, add "et" at the back)

If the original word ends with "ieren", the word in the infinitive form just replaces those letters with a "t".
zB fotografieren -> fotografiert

If the verb involves movement from one place to another, "ist" is used instead of "habe" as the second word
zB Gestern war sie geschwommen (schwimmen) (She swam yesterday)

also for gejoggt (joggen), gefahren (fahren), geflogen (fliegen), gereist (reisen)

Ich habe letzte Woche (last week) keine Hausafgaben gemacht. (last week no homework)
Letztes Jahr (last year) sind wir nach Kuala Lumpur geflogen. (last year we flew to KL)
