The Imperativ form of the word is used when you are giving an order e.g. Go now!
3 different cases.
1) Formal – the word stays as it is.
arbeiten -> Sie arbeiten -> Frau Müller, arbeiten Sie!
2) Informal, to a single person – in normal grammar, add “st” at the back of the word e.g. wohnen - du wohnst. Remove the “st".
arbeiten -> du arbeitest -> John, arbeite jetzt!
3) Informal, to more than one person – in normal grammar, add “t” at the back of the word. Eg wohnen - Ihr wohnt.
machen -> Ihr macht -> Kinder, macht jetzt Hausaufgaben!
